(We Have Fun Too)

Have You Been Disney-fied?

June, 2008, another unsuspecting visitor to Disney World, will unknowingly, (as so many others before and after him), become Disney-fied!

That unsuspecting visitor was ME!

Look at me, on the right... All silly looking with my 1st Time Visitors button on.

My First Time At Disney World and I had to wear this silly button ;-)

Grandpa and granddaughter Fernan taking a break in Disney World's Hollywood Studios Before ever going to Disney World, my thought was (as I'm sure are many adults who have never gone), "What's the big deal... It's just a big amusement park for kids." In my mind, I was taking my granddaughter, and that was cool, but I could not, for the life of me, understand why Cindy could get so has so excited about going. I mean she had been at least seven years in a row, and some of those years, she went more than once. So in my unknowledgeable eyes, was nothing but confusion about her excitement.

Come on! You been once, that's enough... Right?

Oh, but how wrong I was! Once I was there, I started to see more and more that appealed to me, then I started to see the magic from grown-up eyes... Restaurants, golfing, shows like Cirque De Soleil... Uh-oh... Before you knew it...

I Had Been DISNEY-FIED!

Yep... The big, bad adult had fallen to the magic of Disney World!

Now, there are some things I didn't care for. Some of the visitors are rude, but when you get that many people in one place, you're bound to have some knuckleheads. It's not a perfect world, and even Disney World can't control the manners of it's visitors. But even with that, I had an absolute wonderful time and was planning to go again.

By the time we got back home, I was already talking to Cindy about going again, just the two of us, and since we had friends (Karl & Terri Rosenhan) that went in December, Cindy and I went again the first week of December.

So me, the guy who could not understand why any 'grown-up' could get so excited about Disney World, had went TWICE in 2008... The very first year I had ever been!

I Had Been DISNEY-FIED!

Not only had I went TWICE my first year, I joined the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) a few months later, in February of 2009. Then in December of 2009, Cindy and I once again visited Disney World. This time, our friends, the Rosenhans, were renewing their vows for their 10th wedding anniversary, and we, along with other friends, Mike and Sondra Branson, (along with their young son Hayden), were able to be a part of that awesome experience.

Cindy, my granddaughter Fernan and daughter Luvenia at the gardens before eating at Le Cellier Steakhouse So let's recap here... In a year and a half, I have been to Disney World THREE times, joined the Disney Vacation Club, and have already reserved the July 4th week of 2010, and it will be a nice size group of us going.

I've invited my mom Martha, sister Dianne, brother-in-law Jeff and my daughter Renae. My other daughter Luvenia and granddaughter Fernan, who went in June of 2008, are planning to going too.

Cindy's daughter Julie, son-in-law Jon (we plan on golfing a couple days) and granddaughter Olivia will meet us there, and maybe her other two daughters, Annie and Chelsea, will be able to make it as well.

Cindy and I are also going on a Disney Cruise in late November of 2010...Yep...

No matter how I try to justify the 'grown-up' side of joining the Disney Vacation Club... You know, "to go all the other places that you can use those points for"... the fact remains...

I Am Definitely DISNEY-FIED!

So, whether you're looking from the excited eyes of a child itching to get out and meet Mickey Mouse, or the leisurely eyes of a 'grown-up' just out to enjoy the shows, dine at the fine restaurants, play on world class golf courses, etc., you need to ask yourself...
